- A course for recorder teachers:
- help your students develop their ear to play with beautiful tone and intonation
- use ear training to develop sight reading
- interested in taking Suzuki Recorder Unit 1, but uncertain? This will give you a sense of whether that would be a fit for you, and include some useful take aways.
- A course for recorder players:
- If you have always wanted to play by ear but not certain how to go about learning to do it, this will give you the tools you need
- minimum 15 h of instructional time scheduled over 3 to 5 days
- content: how to help a beginner:
- play by ear and read music
- produce a beautiful expressive tone
- have excellent posture and hand position
- develop ensemble skills
- improvise
- recognize the influence of parents / caregivers, and learn to harness that influence for student success
- create a foundation for future independent learning
- getting started with the first few tunes in the Suzuki Recorder Method Vol 1 (to cover all the aspects of teaching the entire book, please take Unit 1)
- no audition is required
- Every Child Can! or Filosofia is a recommended prerequisite
- SAA membership is advised if you want to register this course with the Suzuki Association of the Americas
