Every Child Can! / Filosofia

Suzuki Method teacher training can begin with one of two courses:

Every Child Can!© (ECC!)

or

Filosofia
both courses are introductions to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education.

For parents, teachers, prospective teachers and others, these courses provide an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning.

In addition to exploring the elements of the Suzuki approach and its far-reaching goals, both courses include the history of the development of Suzuki education, the role of parents, the importance of Suzuki pedagogical training, and an overview of the SAA’s role in supporting teachers and parents. ECC! includes video materials and SAA-developed courseware, and provides each participant with useful reference materials for later study. Filosofia includes more observation and analysis of individual lessons.

*Note: High-School graduation or equivalent and age 18 are requirements for taking ECC!, Filosofia, and all other Suzuki Association of the Americas Teacher Development Courses.

Important information for teachers who wish to receive credit for this course on their SAA training record:

In order to receive credit for the training on your SAA membership training record, you also have to register for the course through the SAA website. Yes, this is confusing, but the Suzuki Association of the Americas requires the duplicate registration process in order to make sure that all participants have the necessary pre-requisites for all courses.

It will appear that the SAA is requesting that you pay for a “ticket” to the course. Please ignore the request for payment – when you get as far as the checkout, it will say that payment is being accepted through the course presenter (me! – or the Institute that is presenting the class) NOT through the SAA. But in the meantime you have to negotiate all these pages that look like payment is being requested in US$. Yes, we are talking to them about how confusing this is! Hopefully this situation will improve. In the meantime, thank you for your patience!
