FLUTE AND RECORDER LESSONS
Hybrid Studio:
Lessons are both in person or online. Students who normally attend lessons in person can pivot to online if they are not feeling well and online students can take advantage of some in person events.
In person students:
There are a limited number of places for in person students in the Edmonton area.
Online students:
From all over the world: Australia, Japan, Ecuador, Peru, United States, Canada, and more.
Group and Individual Instruction:
All students receive individual instruction, with opportunities to work in small groups during the overlap time when one student is arriving and the previous one is leaving. Large ensemble opportunities are available during scheduled Open Studios and workshop events.
Wide spectrum of age and level:
From preschoolers to retirees, from pre-professional University students to beginners. Working with this range of students and levels makes me very aware of the importance of a solid foundation at the beginning, so I always have room for a limited number of beginners every year.
Over 40 years of experience as an international teaching artist.
Former students have won competitions, been accepted to universities and training orchestras, become recording artists, received gold medals from the Royal Conservatory of Music, trained as Suzuki teachers, and are successful in a myriad of non-musical activities as well.
I didn’t think anyone would be willing to teach the Suzuki method to an adult but I found a wonderful teacher, Kathleen Schoen, in Alberta. My self-esteem soared! I was no longer dreaming of a future where I might one day be able to work on music that I loved. I was already doing it!
